Emulsification and encapsulation by soft matter techniques, ACS Fall Meeting, San Diego, 25-29 August 2019

The soft matter community is working actively on the generation of new types of colloids, i.e. nanoparticles of interesting actives (drugs, tracers, b omolecules of any sorts) or nanocapsules integrating these in their core. Different soft techniques exist nowadays to perform so, including spontaneous emulsification (of any kind) or emulsion polymerization, to prepare e.g. polymersomes or nanostructured particles, respectively. The release of the active, either through natural or targeted degradation, or by an external trigger, is also a field of constant discovery and interest. This ACS fall meeting session aims at gathering under the same scope biologist, pharmacologists, chemists and physicists interested in the protection and release of any types of actives as well as the formation of structure colloids. We will cover the preparation, the characterization and application of these small objects and structured colloids in a range of applications including agro, cosmetic, food or pharmaceutical applications.

Partec 2019 - April 9-11, 2019 - Nuremberg, Germany

PARTEC is one of the largest international conferences devoted to all aspects of particle and powder technology, including particle formation processe , particle characterisation and measurement methods and equipment, processes such as agglomeration, compaction and coating, formulation and performance of products, and applications of particles of any kind. Modern production processes in chemical, pharmaceutical and biological industries are characterized by solids processes with complex process structures. Grand challenges has been achieved to better understand and to adjust processes for particle product design and the corresponding and required product properties, which are of multiscale nature. Besides this classical fields the PARTEC wants to adress also emerging fields of applications of particle technology in life sciences and medicine, environmental and energy technology, synthesis reactions, materials science, electronics, photonics and additive manufacturing, which influence our daily life. For this reasons the major topic of the next PARTEC in 2019 is „Particles for a better life“. PARTEC attracts a very wide mix of attendees, from both academy and industry, all meeting together in the same place and surrounded by POWTECH, the world’s leading exhibition for the processing, analysis and handling of powder and bulk solids. PARTEC welcomes contributions from researchers in universities, industrial companies and other research organizations. Industry specific and also joined research proposals between industry and research organizations are appreciated. Contributions covering all aspects of particle science and applications are welcome.
